Miracle Road - Emily March

Miracle Road is the 7th installment of the Eternity Springs series. The story is about Lucca Romano and Hope Montgomery who have each suffered tragedies in their lives. Lucca is a collegiate basketball coach whose life went on a downward spiral when an accident cost the lives of 2 of his players and paralyzed 1. He blamed himself for the accident and suffered from survivor’s guilt. He had a breakdown and decided to leave his lucrative career and beloved family to live a life of debauchery in South America.

As for Hope Montgomery, she has been ridden with guilt due to a decision she made which precipitated in the kidnapping of her daughter. But unlike Lucca, she decided to live her life and become a teacher with the dream of finding her daughter someday.

Meanwhile, Lucca was hauled from South America by his brother Zach and sister Gabi. He had to help renovate their mother’s recently purchased B&B. He meets Hope when the dog she was sitting for gave birth in his closet and bit him on his glorious butt.

Lucca and Hope bring their individual grief into the relationship. As a couple they experienced doubt, uncertainty, healing, forgiveness and love. And at the end of their story, they find redemption and new beginnings.

We also get to see characters from previous stories. I was especially glad to read about Jack and Cat’s one year old son Johnny.

I look forward to the next story which is about Lucca and Zach’s sister Gabi and a man named Liam.

I received this book for free from Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

"Life can only be understood backwards; but it must be lived forwards."

Silver Fire - Victoria Paige Silver Fire is the second story of the Guardian Series. It was as exciting, action packed, and a tad grittier than Fire and Ice. Derek the H was first introduced to us a friend and business partner of Jack the H from the first book. He’s also a good friend of Maia who is the h from Fire and Ice. Derek is a well-known womanizer who is paired perfectly with Sophie who is not as experienced, but has gone through a terrible incident in her life.

As usual Victoria has written an h with a backbone. Sophie did not back down from Derek whenever he brought out his Alphaness. This couple went through a lot more than Jack and Maia. The scene described about ¾ into the story did not bother me at all.

I can’t wait for Viktor and Marissa’s story. Please write fast, Victoria.

ARC Review
When You're Ready (The Ready Series #1) - J.L. Berg I was pleasantly surprised with this book. I enjoyed the banter between Clare (the h) and her best friend Leah. Their dialogue reminded me of my interactions with friends. Logan... well he was insecure due to his non-relationship with his parents... but he was ooohhh sooo yummy... Maddie was way too cute for words that I just wanted to hug her. Ethan.. damn but the letter made me cry while working out on the elliptical.

To sum it up, you will laugh because yes, Clare was a goof. You will cry because of the unexpected situation Logan and Clare had to overcome. All in all a wonderful story.

I look forward to Leah and Declan's story next.
Westin's Chase - Cristin Harber Westin Chase is the 3rd book in the Titan Series. The story is about the hunkalicious head of Titan and former ATF/Titan’s Arms supplier Sugar. Their relationship is intense due to a very strong willed heroine who matches perfectly with an unyielding Alpha hero. Jared just does not know of any other way to live his life. But you can bet he can be soft and sensitive when he needed to be.

You can look forward to lots of action, sex, romance and yes betrayal by another member of the titan team . This book in particular reminds me of Maya Banks’ KGI series.
Run the Risk - Lori Foster This book was a huge let down for me. I have enjoyed Lori's previous books such as her most recent series "Men who walk the edge of honor". I found Pepper Yates' transformation quite dubious. I also found her annoying. I don't understand how she can have sex with her cloths on with the lights out. Then become this hard nosed sex kitten when she and her brother were discovered. I don't know why Logan found her attractive and why he put up with her.
Rock Chick Revenge - Kristen Ashley I loved the action. However, this was somewhat disappointing for me due to Ava. I understand insecurities but come on, 3 hot guys (Luke, Ren and Riley) after you and you don't have any clue? Looovved Lucas Stark. He was like the other members of the Hot Pack. Hoped he was paired with a stronger heroine.

On to the next Rock chick book.
Evangelina Green (The Color Guard, #1) - Susan Firtik 3.5 stars. Overall a promising start to a series. Although, i don't quite understand how Lina and Netta can go about fixing the mansion when Tashi was gone and didn't have any idea where she's at. The men were indeed yummy.. Keaton, Victor, Jason and even Thomas.
Sweet Magik - Penny Watson This was just ok for me. I could not feel the connection between Oskar and Kiana.
Bound by Blood - P.A. Lupton Absolutely enjoyed this book. The characters were all fascinating. Can't wait for the next book.
Kiss of Snow - Nalini Singh This was a 3.5 for me. I don't know, but I just had a hard time understanding the chemistry between Hawke and Sienna. I preferred Lucas and Sascha's story/chemistry better. I guess i had a hard time understanding Sienna's predicament. I couldn't quite buy into how mature she is at the age of 19. Given that most of the characters in the book have had to go through a lot when they were younger. Anyhow, Walker and Lara's story were a fabulous addition.
Get a Clue - Jill Shalvis I really liked Cooper. He was definitely hawt and very patient towards Breanne. She was the reason why I gave the book 2 stars. Breanne was too spoiled and insecure for me. I have no idea what Cooper saw in her, besides the physical aspect.
Caressed by Moonlight (Rulers of Darkness, #1) - Amanda J. Greene This was a good first book for a series. I normally find the first one boring, but not this one. I look forward to reading more of Amanda's work.
Simply Irresistible - Jill Shalvis I enjoyed the book mainly because of super hot Jax (and his interactions with Ford and Sawyer). He's drool worthy, has money and a great big heart. Really, are there any guys out there like him? On the other hand, Maddie got on my nerves with her insecurities. She constantly brought up her weight issues, her sisters being more beautiful and outgoing than her. Her mother's description of her is spot on "mouse". In any case, I will read the next two books. I want to know what happens to Tara and Ford as well as Sawyer and Chloe.
Kiss of Fire - Deborah Cooke Interesting story about Dragons. I just couldn't feel the connection between Quinn and Sara. But I do plan to read the rest of the books.
The School of Essential Ingredients - Erica Bauermeister Heartfelt and touching stories.
